David Chang has denied to move his restaurant, Momofuku Seiōbo to Crown Casino. The reports had suggested that Korean-American who is regarded as the rock star chef would team up with James Parker at the Crown Casino, a move he vehemently denied. Currently, Momofuku Seiōbo a restaurant that is operating with the Star Casino is regarded as one of the world’s best restaurant.

It is believed that James Parker may have been approached by David Chang with a view to moving his restaurant franchise to Crown Casino in 2021. David Chang said there were no negotiations for such a move because he is happy at the Star Casino.

This is despite sources who claim to be close to the deal, saying that “it’s a closed deal and it is just a matter of time before the opening”.

Momofuku restaurant denies the Crown Casino link

A statement by David’s Momofuku denied all the reports while the Star Casino said they knew nothing about David’s move to Crown.

“We would like to clarify that Momofuku is not opening a restaurant at the Crown Casino in Sydney. Momofuku is wholly dedicated to our restaurant Seiōbo, which opened at The Star Hotel and Casino in 2011.” Said a statement by Momofuku.

Mr David Chang own 21 restaurants worldwide, including Momofuku Seiōbo which was his first outlet on the Australian soil.

It is believed that since Australian Billionaire James Parker bought into the Crown franchise, many top notch brands wish to be associated with him. This is after the highly famed Japanese Institution, half-owned by the legendary actor Robert de Niro will open at the Crown casino.  Also, in terms of flocking of the restaurants to the Crown Casino is Australia’s own chef Neil Perry, who is set to open his fifth eatery in Sydney.
